A pod of friendly Spinner dolphins welcomed us to the Big Island – they seemed as interested in us as we were with them. Everyone - including my daughter Chloe (age 5) - had a long swim with our new friends.  I have seen huge pods of Spinner dolphins before, they are often curious but not always interested with divers in the water.  This resident pod in south Kona, however, is as welcoming and warm as the Hawaiians themselves.
